The diocese of Pittsburgh has begun to again require the wearing of masks at all liturgies by everyone. This has been in response to the Delta variant which is exceptionally transmissible, and has begun to affect more and more children. Thus, it would seem wise for us to follow their example. Certainly those who are not vaccinated need to wear a mask at Mass. Certainly children under the age of 12 need to be wearing masks as well. Because Blair County has recorded a “substantial” transmission of COVID-19, the CDC recommends that people wear masks indoors, even if they are fully vaccinated. This preventive care is for the good of everyone!
